New York Times’ Gail Collins Recalls The Time Trump Called Her ‘A Dog And A Liar’

Gail Collins of the New York Times admitted on Thursday that she “overestimated Donald Trump.”

Gail Collins admitted on Thursday that she “overestimated Donald Trump.”
In her op-ed, the New York Times columnist recalls, “Back in the day, he sent me a copy of a column he objected to, with some notes suggesting I was a ‘dog and a liar’ with ‘the face of a pig.’”
Though she says she’s not particularly bothered by the name-calling, Collins does note, “…it did not occur to me he’d keep doing that kind of stuff as president of the United States.”
She goes on to liken Trump to, “a 10-year-old bully who works out his failure to pass third grade by tormenting the little kids on the playground.”
Collins comments came not long after the president levied a Twitter attack on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
Trump said, in part, “low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”
Collins writes, “The official White House position appears to be that Brzezinski deserved it since she had said mean things about the president on TV.”
Of particular concern to her is the tweet from White House social media director Dan Scavino, who wrote, “#DumbAsARockMika and lover #JealousJoe are lost, confused & saddened since @POTUS @realDonaldTrump stopped returning their calls! Unhinged.”
