Lawsuit filed against Venus Williams for role in fatal car accident

On Friday, an attorney told Good Morning America that Venus Williams will be sued for her involvement in a fatal car accident. Jerome Barson was killed when his wife Linda hit Williams' vehicle after Williams darted out into an intersection in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida back in 2010. According to the police report, Williams entered the intersection at five mph and there was no evidence of drugs, alcohol, or texting during the accident. ABC legal expert Areva Martin said Williams will most likely not be held criminally responsible for Barson's death due to a lack of evidence of 'reckless or wanton conduct.' Williams' attorney Martin Cunnigham issued a statement: "This is an unfortunate accident and Venus expresses her deepest condolences to the family who lost a loved one."
