Brzezinski and Scarborough Respond To President's Tweets: 'Donald Trump Is Not Well'

'Morning Joe' hosts responded to President Trump's tweets in a Washington Post column Friday.

Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, co-hosts of MSNBC's 'Morning Joe,' have written a Washington Post op-ed in response to Trump’s disparaging Twitter comments about them.
The piece, which was published early on Friday, is titled, "Donald Trump is not well."
It refutes various claims made by Trump, including the repeated visits to Mar-a-Lago, his refusal to see them, and the post-surgical bleeding.
"President Trump launched personal attacks against us Thursday, but our concerns about his unmoored behavior go far beyond the personal," say Scarborough and Brzezinski. "America’s leaders and allies are asking themselves yet again whether this man is fit to be president. We have our doubts, but we are both certain that the man is not mentally equipped to continue watching our show, 'Morning Joe.'"
The tweets in question were posted on Thursday and read, “I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”
Since that posting, many including a number of Republicans have expressed their disapproval.
Representative Lynn Jenkins of Kansas tweeted, “This is not okay. As a female in politics I am often criticized for my looks. We should be working to empower women.”
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham spoke out as well, saying via Twitter, “Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America.”
A spokesperson for Melania Trump expressed a different view, saying in a statement, “As the first lady has stated publicly in the past, when her husband gets attacked he will punch back 10 times harder.”
