Hero Biju is a comical thriller which stars Nivin Pauly in the title role. The movie is directed by Abrid Shine and penned by Muhammed Shafeeq. Anu Emmanuel essays the female lead. The movie is produced by Pauly Jr. Pictures and Full On Studios.

review--Biju Paulose is a middle-class, next door guy who leads the normal life of a Malayali commoner. He passes through all the phases of a normal youngster. He is engaged to Benita (Anu Emmanuel). But Biju ends up as a police officer and the nature of his job brings a drastic change in his life and personality. What happens in Biju's life forms the crux of the plot.

Cast Nivin Pauly, who plays SI Biju Paulose, literally carries the movie in his shoulder. He perfectly plays the normal youngster who dons khakee and successfully connects with the audience thoughout the movie. Anu Emmanuel plays a minimal role as Benita and shares a good chemistry with Nivin. The supporting cast, including Saiju Kurup, Major Ravi, Kochu Preman, Joju George, Prajod Kalabhavan, Valsala Menon etc perfectly play their parts. Script And Direction Action Hero Biju is completely a director's film. Abrid Shine excellent craft is visible in each frame of the movie. The script, jointly written by Abrid and Muhammed Shafeeq, perfectly combines the commoner and heroic aspects of Biju. But, for the audiences who expect another 1983 or Premam, will be totally disappointed after watching the movie. Biju is a very simple movie which deals with a wafer-thin story but narrates it in the most sensible way possible. Technical Aspects Cinematographer Alex J Pulickal's colourful yet highly natural visualisation has highly supported the extremely natural narrative of the movie. Manoj's editing is okay. Songs And Background Score Jerry Amaldev's songs are truly magical. But they may disappoint a large group of audiences, who expects more youthful tunes. Rajesh Murgesan once again amazes with his outstanding background score. Verdict A very realistic, subtle, fun-filled police story, which reinvents the whole concept of khakee.
