Trump Hopes Democrats Hold On To Nancy Pelosi And ‘Cryin’ Chuck Schumer

The defeat of Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s special election has prompted some Democrats to call for the replacement of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, but President Trump would prefer otherwise.

The recent defeat of Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s special election has prompted some Democrats to call for the replacement of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, as they believe she’s become a familiar Republican target.
President Trump says he would prefer she stays.
He tweeted Thursday morning, “I certainly hope the Democrats do not force Nancy P out. That would be very bad for the Republican Party - and please let Cryin' Chuck stay!”
‘Cryin’ Chuck’ is a reference to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who, after the first travel ban was instituted in January, shed tears as he stood beside refugees from Iraq and Syria.
Business Insider notes that Trump said at a meeting held not long after, “I noticed Chuck Schumer yesterday with the fake tears. I'm going to ask him who was his acting coach…”
Neither Schumer nor Pelosi is likely to lose their top positions any time soon, notes Politico.
However, in Pelosi’s case, there have been rumblings that she’s become more of a hindrance than a help to House candidates as she’s often referenced in Republican attack ads.
