Damon Lindelof will reportedly helm HBO's 'Watchmen' series

According to Deadline, HBO is lining up Damon Lindelof to take charge of the new cable adaptation of 'Watchmen.' Lindelof has previously worked with HBO on the critically acclaimed series 'The Leftovers,' and has helmed other sci-fi projects like 'Star Trek' and 'Cowboys & Aliens.' The last adaptation of 'Watchmen' was a well received film in 2009, slightly before the superhero movie phase kicked into high gear. Because of the depth and dark themes of the 'Watchmen' comic books, many fans believe it to be better suited for a television series than a movie.
