British Metropolitan Police is responding to a "major incident" in which a vehicle drove over pedestrians near a mosque on Seven Sisters Road in North London early on 19 June. One person is confirmed dead and at least eight have been injured. The victims were taken to three separate hospitals, while two people were treated at the scene for minor injuries, police added.
Police also said that the suspected attacker who was detained by "members of public" at the attack site is a 48-year-old man. "He has been taken to hospital as a precaution, and will be taken into custody once discharged," a statement from the police stated.
