Report: Trump 'Yelling At Television Sets' Over Russia Investigation
  • 7 years ago
According to the Associated Press, President Trump is getting increasingly frustrated over the Russia-related investigation.

In the wake of the growing scope of the Russia-related investigation, President Trump is reportedly getting increasingly frustrated.
According to the Associated Press or AP, "Trump advisers and confidants describe the president as increasingly angry over the investigation, yelling at television sets in the White House carrying coverage and insisting he is the target of a conspiracy to discredit — and potentially end — his presidency. Some of his ire is aimed at Rosenstein and investigative special counsel Robert Mueller, both of whom the president believes are biased against him, associates say."
The AP report follows the Washington Post's report on Wednesday which noted, citing officials, that special counsel has expanded the Russia investigation to include possible obstruction of justice by the president.
In addition to revealing the inquiry into the president, it noted, “The move by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.”
Trump publicly reacted to the report with a series of tweets on Thursday:
"They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story. Nice."
"You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people!  #MAGA"
"Crooked H destroyed phones w/ hammer, 'bleached' emails, & had husband meet w/AG days before she was cleared- & they talk about obstruction?"
Then on Friday, Trump posted another tweet, acknowledging he is under investigation; the tweet read, "I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch Hunt."
