Inside the Iconic Apple Macintosh

London’s Design Museum, senior curator Alex Newson Newson explains how Apple has revolutionized the computing world with its unique product design, transforming the computer from a working tool into something that became a part of everyday domestic life.

The Macintosh was one of Apple’s first mass-market personal computers, which since 1998 has become known simply as ‘Mac’ – it was especially innovative due to its graphical user interface (GUI), which included icons, menus and windows at the click of a button, turning it suddenly into a much more user-friendly product.
