Researchers from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Draper, a tech company, have found a way to control dragonfly flight. They’ve placed a tiny, solar-powered backpack that serves to trigger “steering” neurons on the dragonfly to control its movements. Researchers cite an array of potential uses for environmental monitoring, search-and-rescue and large-scale, guided pollination.
