Lizzy Hawker – Dedication to the mountain
Discreet and spiritual, Lizzy Hawker is the most successful athlete in the history of UTMB®. "This is where I started mountain race, with my first participation in 2005. The UTMB® made me discover a whole universe full of incredible possibilities". Her dedication to mountain and running truly defined Lizzy who did an amazing performance in 2008, taking the 14th place in the overall ranking, only four hours behind the Catalan phenomenon Kilian Jornet. In difficult moments, she had in mind a sentence of Lewis Carroll in Alice in Wonderland: "you have to go on because at the end you’ll stop."

L'UTMB® m'a fait découvrir tout un univers avec des possibilités incroyables". Celle qui se définit par la montagne et la course-à-pied réalise une performance extraordinaire en 2008, en terminant à la 14e place au classement général, avec quatre heures de retard seulement sur le phénomène catalan Kilian Jornet. Dans les moments difficiles, elle se répétait une phrase de Lewis Carroll dans Alice au Pays des merveilles : "tu dois continuer, à la fin, tu t’arrêteras"S
