Carly Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO who ran against Donald Trump in the GOP primaries, wishes the president would stay off of Twitter.
In a Wednesday appearance on Politico’s podcast 'Women Rule,' she called his tweets “distracting,” “insulting,” and, “very destructive.”
Her advice to Trump was, “Stop tweeting,” though she acknowledged, “I don’t think he will stop…unfortunately.”
Among Trump’s controversial recent tweets are those he wrote in the wake of the London terror attack.
One read, “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’”
Notably, while Mayor Sadiq Khan did use those words, he was speaking about the increase in police presence, not the act of terror itself.
Trump has also apparently used the platform to delegitimize both entities and individuals.
In addressing the many shocking leaks to the press, he wrote, “Whenever you see the words 'sources say' in the fake news media, and they don't mention names it is very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers.”
When Hillary Clinton said she believes Russian hacking played a role in her defeat, Trump tweeted, “Crooked Hillary Clinton now blames everybody but herself, refuses to say she was a terrible candidate."
