England are into the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy after beating New Zealand by 87 runs with an accomplished all-round display. England had set a total of 310, Joe Root top-scoring with 64 from 65 balls and Jos Buttler making a rapid unbeaten 61. New Zealand must now beat Bangladesh here and hope Australia do not win, their own rain-abandoned fixture against Steve Smith's men continuing to haunt them.

चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी 2017 में इंग्लैंड ने न्यूजीलैंड को कार्डिफ में 87 रनों से पटखनी देकर सेमीफाइनल में अपनी जगह पक्की कर ली. इस तरह वो चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी 2017 की पहली सेमीफाइनलिस्ट टीम भी बन गई. इस मैच में टॉस हारकर पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए इंग्लैंड की टीम 50 ओवर में 310 रन पर ऑल आउट हुई. जिसके बाद न्यूजीलैंड को 311 रनों का लक्ष्य मिला. 311 रनों के लक्ष्य का पीछा करते हुए न्यूजीलैंड की टीम 44.3 ओवर में 223 रन पर ही ढेर हो गई और इंग्लैंड ने 87 रनों से ये मैच अपने नाम कर लिया.
