ORLANDO, FLORIDA — A man who was fired from Fiamma Inc., a company that makes accessories for RVs in Orlando, opened fire inside his old workplace on Monday morning, killing five people he committed suicide.

John Robert Neumann Jr., 45, was reportedly fired from the company in April.

Neumann reportedly entered the premises through the rear door carrying a handgun, a large hunting knife and a small knife on Monday morning.

The suspect allegedly singled out his targeted victims and told others to leave. Orange County Sheriff Jerry L. Demings said most victims were shot in the head, and some were shot multiple times. Four men and a woman were killed. Seven people survived the attack.

Neumann was accused of battering one of his coworkers in June 2014, though no charges were filed in that case and there is no evidence that the coworker was among those killed in the shooting.

Neumann was an army veteran and was honorably discharged in 1999. He does not appear to have any ties to terror groups.

The shooting occurred just a week before the the anniversary of the Pulse nightclub mass shooting in Orlando, the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. in recent years.
