The Qur’an only condemns a particular decadent Jewish group of the past, not the entire Jewish community

ADNAN OKTAR: The assertion that Jews are cursed is an erroneous statement. Almighty God makes a clear explanation about this in the 64th verse of Surah al-Ma'ida.  What do the Jews of that era say? "God’s hand is chained," they say. Who says this? A certain group of Jews. Look, a certain group of Jews from that era. "Their hands are chained..." God does not say all of them are chained; only those who says, "God's hand is chained." "...and they are cursed for what they say!" That is all. Only that group of Jews was cursed. There is no such thing as an entire nation of Jews being cursed. There is no such thing. God curses idolaters. Why do you not bring that up?  "We have incited enmity and hatred between them until the Day of Rising," says God. But this is not peculiar to the Jews; this hatred and enmity exists among all nations. It is seen among the Al-Qaeda, Al-Nusra, among Muslims considering the fact that Shiites and Sunnis frequently engages in conflict. In other words, God says this in reference to that isolated incident.

I seek refuge in God from satan; "There is a community among the People of the Book," among Jews and Christians, "who are upright. They recite God’s Signs throughout the night, and they prostrate." (Surah Al' Imran, 113) Who are they? God says, "The People of the Book," not, "Muhammedans," But "the People of the Book." commandment of the Quran is clear. "There is a community among the People of the Book, who are upright. They recite God’s Signs throughout the night, and they prostrate." They believe in God and the Last Day, and enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and compete in doing good. They are among the righteous. You will not be denied the reward for any good thing you do. God knows those who guard against evil." (Surah Al Imran, 113-115) So how come you say that all Jews being cursed? God praises them. There are Jews and Christians among these people. They are the People of the Book as God calls them so. God uses the term "Muslim" when He specifically refers to Muslims. These are the People of the Book.

In the 62nd verse of the Surah al-Baqara, God says -I seek refuge in God from satan-; "Those with faith, those who are Jews, and the Christians and Sabaeans, all who have faith in God and the Last Day and act rightly, will have their reward with their Lord." And you were claiming that they are cursed, that all of them are cursed. "They will feel no fear and will know no sorrow." (Surah al-Baqara, 62) If you talk about someone being cursed, that person should feel fear and sorrow. So, this means that Jews are not cursed. This means that only a relevant group of Jews are cursed, whose characteristics God describes in detail in the Qur'an.
