The noises surrounding a reported disagreement between skipper Virat Kohli and coach Anil Kumble have grown louder as the tournament has edged closer. Indian Express reported that the upcoming tournament is likely to be Kumble's last as coach of the Indian side, as the deadline to apply for job ended on Wednesday.

सूत्रों के मुताबिक टीम इंडिया के मुख्य कोच अनिल कुंबले और कप्तान विराट कोहली के बीच जमकर विवाद चल रहा है, जो ख़त्म होने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है, वहीँ अब सूत्रों के हवाले से खबर है कि चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी के बाद अनिल कुंबले टीम इंडिया के कोच नहीं होंगे। Indian Express की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, "आईसीसी चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी, अनिल कुंबले का भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के मुख्य कोच पद के तौर पर आखिरी टूर्नामेंट होगा।"
