Jeb Bush doesn’t want to buy the Marlins anymore

Jeb Bush is backing out of a deal to buy the Miami Marlins. Bush was part of a group with Derek Jeter that won an auction to buy the baseball team. The group was working to finalize the purchase for $1.3 billion. CBS 4’s Joan Murray said Bush left the group because of a power struggle with Jeter. The decision by Bush to pull out of the deal came following a dispute between Bush and Jeter regarding who would be in charge of the team. The initial plan was for Jeter to run the baseball side of the operations and for Bush to run the business side of the team. But in recent talks, it became clear that Jeter was seeking a greater role prompting Bush to back away from the deal. Although Bush is out, Jeter is still interested in buying the team.
