An inspiring video has emerged of a young man with Down's syndrome beating his powerlifting personal record at a gym in Marietta, GA, USA.

The footage, shot on May 16, shows Andrew deadlifting 185lbs with ease as his coach Nathan gives him advice.

"About a year ago Andrew came up to me and told me he wanted to start working out with me in the gym," Nathan wrote online.

"He said he wanted to be a powerlifter. My first question was, 'why?' He said he wanted to be like me."

"He went on telling me how he wanted to compete in the Special Olympics for the Powerlifting event," he added.

"Andrew has had a tough time grasping the form of each exercise but with his will and drive toward a passion of his, he works hard and continues to get better and better session after session."
