A California woman seemed to be confused that candy contains sugar. Jessica Gomez filed a lawsuit against Jelly Belly claiming that “fancy phrasing” The candy, Jelly Belly Sport Beans, lists evaporated cane juice on the packaging, but not sugar. Gomez said the labels violates the Consumer Legal Remedies Act, Unfair Business Practices Law, and False Advertising Law in California. Jelly Belly representatives called the case “nonsense” and pointed out that if she looked at the nutrition facts above the ingredients on the packaging, she would have seen the candy’s sugar content.
