Broadway just had its highest grossing season ever

Now is a good time to be in the theater industry as Broadway just saw its highest grossing season ever, according to the numbers put out by Broadway League. The numbers cover a full calendar year, stretching May to May, and show that Broadway pulled in $1.45 billion in revenue over that time. A large chunk of that figure can be attributed to major shows like 'Hamilton' or newcomers like 'Dear Evan Hansen.' Another notable figure was the total attendance, 13.27 million, was actually down .4 percent but still managed to top all professional New York area sports teams(combined) by 2.6 million.
