Nikki Haley Calls Russia Investigation ‘Absolutely’ Necessary

On Monday morning, UN Ambassador Nikki Haley said the special counsel investigation into matters involving Russia and the 2016 election is “absolutely” necessary.

In a move that surprised many, the U.S. Justice Department recently appointed special counsel, Robert Mueller, to oversee an investigation into matters involving Russia, the Trump campaign, and the 2016 election.
President Trump called the move, “…the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!” However, Nikki Haley, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, seems to have a different outlook.
During a Monday morning appearance on NBC’s ‘Today,’ she commented, “I think we absolutely need the investigation. I think that all these questions need to be answered so that the administration can get back to work.”
Haley was also asked to weigh in on reports that President Trump had shared highly classified information with Russian officials who recently visited the Oval Office.
On May 15, the Washington Post noted, "according to current and former U.S. officials...The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government."
Haley responded, “So much of what I do at the United Nations is based on sensitive information, so much of what a lot of the Cabinet members, what they do is based on sensitive information. So we're trying to reassure all of our counterparts that what they tell us is kept, trusted, and valued and we will return the favor.”
