Harrington's fight to overcome cancer has become a motivating force for the student-athletes as well as his assistant coaches that are preparing for their first game on Friday, Feb. 13 against UC Davis. Texas State's baseball team was picked to finish second in the Sun Belt Conference's preseason poll.

Tyler Gaudin is a senior majoring in mass communication with a concentration in electronic media at Texas State University. His minor is theatre arts.

The Sun Belt Conference RISE Program is a partnership between the Sun Belt Conference and its 13 member institutions that gives one student on each campus the unique opportunity to act as a standalone digital media correspondent for the conference office. Each student aspires to have a career in digital media and has worked closely with Sun Belt Conference staff in developing each of their stories to tell the stories of student-athletes in a unique, intriguing and most importantly honest way.
