XXL Editor in Chief Vanessa Satten Explains The Process of Deciding Who Gets on the Freshman Cover

Yesterday, the XXL Freshman cover was unveiled. Today, their Editor in Chief, Vanessa Sutten & Music Editor, Eric Diep, stopped by Sway in the Morning to discuss the cover and explain the process on deciding who makes the cut.

Vanessa told us they started doing their research last September, talked to people inside, and out, of the industry, invited artists to their HQ, went to live shows, did research, and finally, argued it out.

These two also explained why artists like Deniro Ferrar, Problem and Sage the Gemini didn't make the cover.
