Joell Ortiz Talks Total Slaughter Battle TV Show, Solo Career & How He Went From Nerd to Drug Dealer

Member of Slaughter House, Joell Ortiz stopped by Sway in the Morning to talk about his new album and Slaughter House's exciting TV show "Road to Total Slaughter." Ortiz spoke about the battle rap show "Total Slaughter" which is on Fuse TV every Wednesday at Midnight and how all of these battle rappers have to compete to over a series of episodes in order to reach the live battle of Joe Budden vs. Hollow Da Don and Loaded Lux vs. Murda Mook on July 11th. Ortiz went on to speak about his up and coming EP, House Slippers due in stores in September. Ortiz went on to discuss how he has lost about 50lbs and how it has improved his stage performances. Finally, he discussed how he went from a nerd in school to a drug dealer and how he felt when only had $130 in his pocket when Dr. Dre called.
