Smoke Billows from Six-Story Building on New York's Upper East Side

Firefighters battled a large fire that broke out on the rooftop of a building under construction on New York City’s Upper East Side on Tuesday, May 9.ABC 7 reported the fire broke out just after 2 pm at East 83rd Street and Park Avenue. The building normally houses Jesuit priests but was vacant at the time due to renovations.A nearby school was evacuated and the flames were under control in about 30 minutes.
