Report: Ivanka Trump’s New Book Contains A Common Falsely Cited Quote

PolitiFact is reporting that Ivanka Trump's new book, which features numerous quotes from various well-known people, attributes one passage to former President John Quincy Adams. However, Adams is likely not the source of the quote.
Ivanka Trump’s new book, “Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success” is continuing to receive negative attention.
This time, PolitiFact is reporting that the book, which features numerous quotes from various well-known people, attributes one passage to former President John Quincy Adams. However, Adams is likely not the source of the quote.
It reads, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.”
While the words are commonly assigned to Adams online, two historians remain unconvinced of a connection. H. W. Brands with the University of Texas at Austin told PolitiFact, “I've never seen that from J. Q. Adams. It doesn't sound like him. He wasn't the dreamy type.”
And the Massachusetts Historical Society’s Sara Martin told the watchdog site, “I am confident that this is not a JQA quotation. It neither sounds like him, nor is it really the vein of political thought that he typically expresses in his quotations.”
The first daughter has faced some backlash over others quotes in her book as well; Girls Who Code founder Reshma Saujani, has publicly denounced her inclusion in the book, tweeting directly to Trump, “...don't use my story in #WomenWhoWork unless you are going to stop being #complicit #askivanka.”
Overall, the book has been skewered for its class bias and for not addressing the concerns of everyday women.
