Prince Philip officially steps down from public duties

Buckingham Palace announced Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, will be stepping down from his public duties in the fall. “Prince Philip will attend previously scheduled engagements between now and August, both individually and accompanying The Queen,” Buckingham Palace news release. The 95-year-old had full support from the Queen, according to the news release. Thursday's announce came hours after news broke that the Queen called an all-staff meeting at Buckingham Palace.
