The House of Representatives passed a bill on Tuesday that would let businesses give employees paid time off instead of overtime pay. The Working Families Flexibility Act was passed with a 229-197 vote and will allow workers to have more of a balance between family time and work time. "I don't think there's anything more powerful than giving them more control over their time so that they can make the best decisions for themselves and their families," Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington said Tuesday morning in a press conference held by Republican leaders in the House. The bill will allow employers to reward their workers with 1.5 hours of comp time for every hour worked overtime. If employees do not use their banked compensation time, they will get paid out for it at a later date. The White House released a statement on Tuesday stating that President Donald Trump will sign the bill into law when given to him.
