Deadly Blast Hits NATO Convoy in Kabul

Eight people were killed and at least 28 others injured in a suicide bombing that targeted a NATO convoy near the US embassy in Kabul on the morning of Wednesday, May 3.The armored vehicles that were targeted belonged to the NATO-led Resolute Support mission, which was launched in January 2015 to “provide further training, advice and assistance for the Afghan security forces and institutions.”A spokesman for Resolute Support said three US service members were among the wounded.According to RFE, Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
