'Anarchists' & 'riot': US police clash with protesters on May Day demo in Portland

Smoke bombs and fire crackers were launched at police as a May Day march turned violent in Portland, Oregon, Monday. Marking International Workers Day the protest initially began peacefully, with hundreds of demonstrators marching through downtown Portland. However authorities were forced to cancel the demonstration's permit after protesters began setting bins on fire and throwing projectiles at police, which reportedly included Pepsi cans.
