In the wake of the terror attack in Gurdaspur, Punjab chief minister Prakash Singh Badal has "called off" his meeting with the Pakistan high commissioner Abdul Basit. The Pakistan envoy was scheduled to visit Chandigarh from July 29 to August 1. The 11-hour siege in Punjab ended after government forces surrounded the building in Dinanagar town and gunned down the three militants suspected to be from Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
