Ex-cop Michael Slager to plead guilty in shooting death of Walter Scott

A white ex-South Carolina police officer is expected to plead guilty Tuesday in a high profile federal civil rights case in which an unarmed black motorist was killed. Media reports state that Michael Slager will plead guilty in the shooting death of Walter Scott back in April 2015. In return, the state of South Carolina will drop a pending murder charge against Slager. Slager faces up to life in prison for the felony charge. His murder trial was declared a mistrial in December after a jury failed to reach a verdict. Slager shot Scott as he was running away from him following a traffic stop.
