Trump stopping Michelle Obama’s school lunch program

The Trump administration is cutting a program that was enforced by former first lady Michelle Obama. It was announced on Monday Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said that he would loosen the restrictions on the school lunch program because there was a lack of participation from schools and it increased the costs for districts. Sonny Perdue Perdue's new rule will postpone sodium reductions for at least three years and will allow schools to serve non-whole grain rich products and 1 percent flavored milk. The rule is expected to begin within the 2017-2018 school year.
