Ace tennis player Sania Mirza is selected for prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. The sports ministry recently recommended her name but made it clear that the final decision rests with only the Awards Committee. She recently made India proud by winning Wimbledon title. Sania won her career's first ever women's doubles Grand Slam title with Swiss partner Martina Hingis in July. She also became world number one before winning the Grass Court major. Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award is the highest honour given for achievement in sports.
