Madras: Classes suspended in University as students protest

Students at the University of Madras agitated against the demotion of Professor Ramu Manivannan, on Wednesday, leading to the university subsequently suspending classes in the public administration and politics department. Post-graduate and M.Phil students of the department were not allowed to enter the campus and were also asked to vacate the hostels.
