Hollywood writers could go on strike starting May 2

The Writers Guild of America may be going on strike as early as May 2 unless they reach a new deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers by midnight on May 1. The last time the writers went on strike in 2007, it lasted for 100 days A majority of the shows that would be affected would likely be in the fall, as production for most spring and summer shows have already wrapped up. However, many live and late night shows like Jimmy Kimmel or "Saturday Night Live" would be immediately impacted as they require writers for every night.
