Fyre Festival organizers sued for $100 million

This past Sunday, Fyre Festival organizers Ja Rule and Billy McFarland were hit with a $100 million lawsuit for an alleged 'get-rich-quick scam.' The suit was filed by Mark Geragos on behalf of his client Daniel Jung, who paid over $2,000 for the failed festival. Statement from the suit The complaint mentions the organizers used deceptive promotional strategies and accused them of warning A-Listers not to attend beforehand. Ja Rule and McFarland have since promised attendees refunds and free VIP passes to next year's event.
