The protest against Tipu Sultan's birth anniversary turned violent in Karnataka resulting in the death of one VHP leader and injuring 30 other protesters. This happened during a protest march today at Madikeri, about 250km from Bengaluru. Several organizations including VHP had called for a bandh to protest the government-sponsored Tipu Jayanti celebrations on Tuesday, which took a communal turn, leading to violence.
