NGT allows rafting in Ganga, refuses camping

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) today banned camping activity from Gaumukh to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand with effect from February 1, 2016 to tackle pollution in river Ganga. Also it has allowed the rafting activity in the Ganga saying it does not cause pollution. This has come after the rising concern over pollution in Delhi with heavy smog enveloping the city all day.
