Tamil Nadu to have Jallikattu bull taming sport back?

If news reports are to be believed, the government is all set to allow the popular and dangerous bull taming sport Jallikattu starting from New Year in Tamil Nadu. Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that the government will let such cultural practices continue.The practice was banned last year by the Supreme Court following objections by animal welfare activists. According to media figures In just over four years, from 2010 to 2014, at least 1,100 people have been injured due to jallikattu-type events, and 17 people have died.
