146 tortoises seized at Mumbai Airport, sent back to Madagascar

The Custom officials seized 146 tortoises from a baggage at the Mumbai airport. Out of the 146 tortoises, 139 were Radiated tortoises and seven were Angonoka tortoises, both critically endangered tortoise species of Madagascar. The airlines have been instructed to re-export the same to Madagascar under intimation to wildlife authorities there.
