French election: Le Pen and Macron continue to round two

Far-right nationalist Marine Le Pen and political novice Emmanuel Macron have made it to the second round of the French presidential elections. With nearly 47 million ballots counted, Le Pen and Macron are set for a run-off vote on May 7. Le Pen's Front National party secured 21.6 percent of the total vote, while Macron, who created his own party to run for president, came through with 23.8 percent. The votes marked the end of France's two main parties, the Socialists and center-right wing, which were eliminated in the first round of elections.
