The Australian Defence Force released vision on April 19 showing the Air Task Group participating in air combat operation in Syria and Iraq, dubbed “Defeat Daesh”.The operation involved striking targets with the intention to “disrupt and degrade” Daesh, also known as The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.The footage shows missiles landing on targets at an unidentified location.According to The New Daily defence minister Marise Payne confirmed in April that Australian forces were limited to air operations in eastern Syria.
