Rare Pneumonia Front Appears Over the Detroit River

A rare pneumonia front appeared over the Detroit River in Windsor, Toronto, on April 20.Ivanka Kauric captured the moment the large front formed.The formation was initially mistaken for a waterspout but it was later revealed to be a pneumonia front, according to local reports. According to the Chicago Tribune, a pneumonia front “refers to a strong northeast-to-southwest cold front racing down the western shore of Lake Michigan, usually in the spring or early summer when the lake water is still very cold.”
