Heavy rain in parts of NCR brings respite to people, Monsoon arrives in North India

Heavy rainfall hit parts of NCR on Monday afternoon bringing the much needed respite to the people. Across the country as a whole, average rainfall for the first half of June was 46mm, 25 percent below the long-term average. The heat peaked during May when Phaoldi, in the northwestern state of Rajasthan, set an all-time record of 51C.
