Virginia Raggi has been elected as the first female mayor of the city of Rome in its nearly 3000 year history. Raggi, a lawyer, was born and raised in Rome who is relatively inexperienced politician won 67 percent of the vote by running on an anticorruption platform in a city that’s plagued with it.
