New lawsuit alleges Bose app spies on users

A Chicago man is suing Bose for allegedly spying on him and collecting his data without his permission. Kyle Zak filed the complaint in federal court on Tuesday, claiming the Bose Connect app "intercepted and collected all available Media Information" from his smartphone. Zak alleges the Connect app, which intends to adjust noise-cancellation, passed on the data from his smartphone to third parties. The app's privacy policy indicates that Bose may transmit data to third party partners, but does not make any mention of collecting audio file data.
