Bamboo is used in traditional Hong Kong construction projects for its resilient qualities. It has an incredible ability to bend, but not break, withstanding substantial weight. It also one of the only materials that can endure the devastatingly humid Hong Kong weather. The material embodies the spirit of Hong Kong's industrial vigor and rich construction market. And now it is being re-purposed as the foundation of the Umbrella Revolution.
