Former chairman of selectors Sandeep Patil said that Sachin Tendulkar could have been dropped from the team had he not decided to retire. Sachin retired on from ODIs in 2012.
Sandeep Patil has recently been succeeded by former India wicket keeper MSK Prasad. Tendulkar announced his ODI retirement on December 23, 2012.
