Facebook Live killing: Jilted lover drives around Cleveland, films murder of stranger

CLEVELAND — Cops in Cleveland are searching for a suspect who shot an elderly man in cold blood on Easter Sunday and broadcast the murder on Facebook Live.

Steve Stephens, 37, began posting some pretty unhinged content to Facebook Live yesterday afternoon. He claimed to have killed 13 people over the years as he explained that his relationship with a woman had broken down and he was at mental breaking point.

Seemingly at random, Stephens approached an old man on the street and asked him to say the name of his ex-girlfriend. Stephens then shot the man dead at close range.

Police identified the victim as 74-year-old Robert Goodwin, Sr. but said they did not know what Stephens’ motive was for killing the old man, NBC4 reported.

In subsequent posts to Facebook, Stephens threatened to continue killing until he was caught.

Writing in the comments on one of his videos, Stephens claimed to have already killed 15 people in the vicinity of the 105 freeway in Cleveland since he began his rampage.

However, police could only confirm one homicide.

The cops warned the public that Stephens was armed and dangerous, and urged the killer to turn himself in.
